I've never written anything remotely like this before, and coming up with something "renaissancey" was quite a challenge for me. I drew inspiration from the background music in Dwarf Fortress (thanks Tarn). I've never been satisfied by the quality you get from soundfonts, so it was an uphill battle the whole way trying to get the instruments sounding authentic. In the end, I think I did my best. Thanks for hosting the compo, fellas!
