Thanks a lot to Shelly Callahan for recording them.
This is still inspired by Karasu's "Medievil" song.
In case you wonder, the rose, the snake and the lyrics are inspired by the Epic of Gilgamesh.

Town Music

http://roguebard.eptalys.net/song.php?id=30

Some music that I wrote a while back for a game that me and some friends were making. enjoy, and please criticize! :)

The Three Caravels

http://roguebard.eptalys.net/song.php?id=27

This track has a long history. I originally composed it to simply test a set of soundfonts I had purchased. That was around 2006 or 2007, when I was still using MadTracker.

In 2008, I let Jice listen to this tune. He liked it and we recorded an alternative version which was used in the 2008RLSC as the example track.

After my hard disc died a few weeks ago, I lost much of what I had composed in the last months. One of the first tunes I made after that happened was a completely new version of the old track. This time it's titled "The Three Caravels". I hope you find it listenable.

Space Odyssey

http://roguebard.eptalys.net/song.php?id=26

Equipment and software used:
Guitar Pro, FL Studio 8, Schecter 006 Deluxe guitar and
unidentified acoustic guitar with nylon strings, Garritan
Personal Orchestra controlled with midi keyboard and
Addictive Drums. Guitars are not used to record the song but do the composing.

Effects Used: Too many to list
Time Spent: umm about 7h

What I see in the song:
Through space and time travels a brave creature
by rocket knowing that he can't return home.
Actually he exchanged his life with the opportunity
to explore and experience the space.

First part tells his feelings when he sees beautiful scenes in the deep calm space.
In second part his simple rocket is travelling towards
a sun and he can just wait for the end.

Hmmm... thats about it.

P.S.
Should have fine-tuned the song, but didn't have the
nerves to do it :(
(for example beats when different instruments
enter and leave)
Probably going to use this in my RL... dunno.

The Naïve Bard (cover)

http://roguebard.eptalys.net/song.php?id=25

This is a cover of Bushy's awesome entry to the 2008 Roguelike Soundtrack Contest. Since Jice uploaded a new version of his fave entry, I can do it as well :). Who has ever seen anyone ascend from the nether world ?"

A cover of Karasu's "Medievil" that went out of control...
Karasu's song was the one that impressed me the most on the 2008 contest. It's obvious that he didn't have time to work on it and just quickly put a few notes, and yet, I find those 8 recorder notes more inspiring than everything I've done. Karasu, I hope you'll finish this promising work !

Duegar Requiem

http://roguebard.eptalys.net/song.php?id=23

Sequencer used : ACID Pro
This is less of a background soundtrack and more of a story. Each year the Elves gather around the Great Tree and spend a night of song and dance. The festivities are cut short by the Orcish War Drums and a battle takes place. The Orcs almost take the night with their War Beasts, but Elvish Magic wins the night.

The Naïve Bard

http://roguebard.eptalys.net/song.php?id=20

Sequencer used : Modplug Tracker, Cubase
I have no idea what a medieval song should sound like! Good will to anyone brave enough to give this a go :-)
